Wellness

(sponsored in part by LL Bean) |
Yin Yoga
with Michael Katz
7:30-8:30am
Every Wednesday |
The Yin approach to yoga is based
on self compassion and softness. It is not strenuous and very little
strength is involved in doing the poses. Yin yoga stimulates the
meridians and organs in a manner that is similar to acupuncture. It
also stimulates ligaments, connective tissue, deep tissue, and
joints in a way that the more energetic yang types of yoga do not.
Many people have experienced loss of pain and stiffness. All poses
focus on the area between the navel and the knees. There are no
standing poses. Poses are seated or prone and are held for five
minutes with a focus on the breath. Come and give it a try! |

Polarity Therapy
with Douglas Reighley, LMT, CPP
11am-12noon
Oct 4 |
Polarity Therapy is based on the human energy field
and the underlying belief that the undisturbed flow and balance of
the electromagnetic energy in and around the body is the basis for
health and wellbeing. This technique strives to clear and unblock
restrictions in the energy field, restoring it to its natural state
of balance. It should not be confused with massage, as the body is
not stroked or kneaded. It is an adjunct, but never a substitute for
supervised medical care.
