• Cash Donations — always welcome, in any
amount. Please make checks payable to the Cancer Community Center,
or donate securely online by

• Gifts of Appreciated Securities — because a donation of appreciated securities
generally avoids capital gains taxes, this may be a convenient way to
increase your support to the Center.
• Planned Gifts — including the Cancer
Community Center in your estate plan creates a lasting legacy of support
for our mission. There are numerous strategies for structuring a gift
that suits your personal situation while meeting your charitable goals.
• Bequests provide for charitable contributions from
your estate. Bequests are deductible as charitable gifts for estate tax
purposes and can include most assets. A charitable bequest may be added
to an existing will as a codicil.
• Charitable Remainder Trusts provide fixed or
variable lifetime income and an immediate tax deduction. They also
postpone capital gains taxes and can reduce estate taxes. The remainder
benefits the Center.
• Charitable Lead Trusts provide income to the
Center for a period of years, as well as substantial income and estate
tax benefits. They may also maximize assets that eventually pass to your
family.
• IRAs, Retirement Funds or Annuity Contracts can
include the Center as the beneficiary of the account and provide an
opportunity to save income and estate taxes and maximize bequests to
family.
• Honor or Memory Gifts in the name of
individuals, colleagues, or an event are a meaningful way to celebrate a
special day or recognize those people who have touched your life.
• Community Fundraising Events are a great way to
help the Center with not only raising money but helping to expand our
outreach.
• Special Events are a large part of our
fundraising but also help us to meet people and have fun! Join us
for some of our regular events, such as our Hit the Trails, Walk, Run
or Stroll at Pineland Farms in September, Laughter is the Best
Medicine comedy night in November, our Maine Mall Kiosk from
mid-November until Christmas and our Online Auction every March.
The Cancer Community Center does not
provide legal or tax advice, and encourages potential donors to contact
their professional advisor.
