LGFB is a program designed to help improve the self-image and self
esteem of women experiencing appearance-related side effects from
cancer treatment. LGFB offers hands on instruction and
education by volunteer cosmetologists, a 12-step make-up guide and

scarves and nail care.

member deals with it differently. Drawing on their newly published
book, A Family’s Journey - a handbook for living with illness
and finding hope, authors Patricia Ellen, Ginny Keegan and
Frankie Odom will look at issues such as: how to tell the children
and keeping the conversation going, navigating chaos, the changing
face of hope, discovering your unique spiritual resources, creative
activities to do alone or together, stories of others who have
traveled this path. Discussion will be interactive with your
questions, sharing, and activities.

strong immunity? The answer is simply knowing how to make seasonal
adjustments. As the weather gets warmer we can adjust our food

based upon a foundation composed of the three A’s of Anusara Yoga: a

accompanying the final poses of the lesson with a live classical

Reiki Techniques

Reiki addresses imbalances
in the flow of energy throughout the body. Used by a growing number
of hospitals, it helps to alleviate pain, reduce stress and promote
deep relaxation. Reiki treatments before, during or after a session
of radiation or chemotherapy may reduce side effects such as fatigue
and nausea. In the first half of this workshop, participants will
learn self-Reiki. In the
second half, Michael will demonstrate simple techniques that
participants can use to help a friend or loved one ease anxiety
before or during treatment.

Maintaining proper nutrition while undergoing
radiation or chemotherapy is a major challenge for many cancer
patients; to help you meet this challenge, Cindy, a certified
holistic nurse (with advanced training in nutrition for cancer
patients) has conducted monthly sessions to answer your specific
questions. Brooke, an oncology-dedicated dietician also makes
herself available to meet. The regular meetings are on hiatus.
Call us and we'll schedule an individual session for you, when

Mindful Meditation

Learn how to
relax, de-stress and let positive energy into your life. Meditation
means being in the present moment and increasing self-awareness. During a Mindful Meditation session, which is a unique blend of
Breath Therapy, Progressive Relaxation, and Guided Imagery, you
become more aware of how your body, mind, emotions, energy, and
spirit are linked. Meditation can make a significant difference in
the lives of people with cancer, and – as a rapidly growing body of
research tells us – these practices have the capacity to reduce
stress and strengthen immunity, to enhance the quality of life, and

Polarity Therapy

Polarity Therapy is based on the human energy field
and the underlying belief that the undisturbed flow and balance of
the electromagnetic energy in and around the body is the basis for
health and wellbeing. This technique strives to clear and unblock
restrictions in the energy field, restoring it to its natural state
of balance. It should not be confused with massage, as the body is
not stroked or kneaded. It is an adjunct, but never a substitute for

this class combines fundamental T’ai Chi Chuan exercises emphasizing

These skills provide an excellent foundation for T’ai Chi Form, and
can improve one’s performance in other movement activities. Learning
T’ai Chi Fundamentals deepens ones understanding of the T’ai Chi

Dealing with the Loss of a Loved One

This 8-week group is available to those newly
bereaved, or who have not participated in a grief group before. The
group will welcome new participants for the first three sessions,
and then will be closed to newcomers to ensure that group members
will have a clear beginning and end to the group process of
connecting with others who are also grieving. A new group begins on

emotional and social support to those who have been through a
short-term grief group, and would like to continue in a group. Meets

cancer, such as talking to family and friends; work challenges; or
