The Live2Thrive group was
formed to help younger cancer patients and survivors, (age
18-45ish) meet,
share resources, make connections, and have fun! This group wants
to get
off the couch, get stronger, live life and thrive!
Cancer for younger adults adds a lot
of different complications to one's life than
it does for older adults. This group addresses and discusses
such issues as:
“If I’m dating,
when do I tell that person I had / have cancer?”
“Will my cancer and/or treatment affect my ability to have children?”
“What about putting my education / career on hold?”
“How do I get financial help if I’m unable to work?”
“How do I deal with the on-going, possible permanent side-effects of
treatment?”
“My life has changed forever...now what?”
Each month, this group meets at a local restaurant
for the Live2Thrive Dinner Club.
Dinner and appetizers are paid for by the CCC (adult beverages not
included). The
group is lead by a trained facilitator, who is herself a young cancer
survivor. If there is
interest, other activities can be scheduled, as well. In the
past, these have included
rock climbing and bowling.

*We don’t put

this group, please come.
